METRO opened its first cash & carry wholesale center in Pakistan in 2007 & expanded to 5 wholesale centers in a short span of 18 months. In July 2012 METRO and Makro-Habib combined their wholesale business in Pakistan marking the beginning of a long-term partnership to the mutual benefit of both companies. Job Description
Food Safety Management System Compliance
Assurance of corporate & local standards by visiting all three south stores, follow-up on previous corrective actions
Monthly Store Management Meeting executions based on QA compliance results and taking corrective actions from management
Follow-up on raised NC's (Internal assessment, Head Office and corporate audits)
Attend the trainings conducted by store QA and share inputs as per annual training plan
Assurance and review of store QA activities (assessments, trainings, complaint management etc) & their effectiveness
Follow up and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve customer complaints
Compliance of product testing & hygiene monitoring plan at stores
FSSC-22000 and HALAL Certification Assurance
Alignment and execution of certification/ surveillance audits through Certification Body
Follow-up on Corrective and preventive action submission against FSSC and HALAL audits
Execution of Internal audit in collaboration with HO QA team, action planning and corrective actions submission through store team
Maintaining FSSC 22000 & HALAL standard documentation and verification of record at stores
Assuring annual training of food safety & halal team on standard requirements
Regional Supplier Development
Execution of yearly Supplier Development Plan
Assessment of new suppliers on METRO supplier qualification standards
Training & surprise/ planned visit of suppliers under responsibility to verify compliance
Monthly & quarterly review of supplier development program with management
People Management
Capacity building of Store QA team through Training
Conducting team building activities with store QA team
Develop a strong collaboration & working relation with QA team, operations & relevant stakeholders
Qualifications
Minimum Graduation (16 years) & preferably post-graduation (18 years) in Agricultural / life sciences, food engineering, food sciences, food safety/ quality management or related disciplines from HEC recognized University
Qualified lead auditor of GFSI standards and/ or Halal Standard would be a preference
Diversified knowledge in standards of quality & food safety systems (ISO 90001/HACCP/Halal/FSSC 22000/BRC/IFS…)

Minimum 4 years working in quality assurance/quality control in food and non-food business or relevant industries
