Job description
METRO opened its first cash & carry wholesale center in Pakistan in 2007 & expanded to 5 wholesale centers in a short span of 18 months. In July 2012 METRO and Makro-Habib combined their wholesale business in Pakistan marking the beginning of a long-term partnership to the mutual benefit of both companies. The merger allowed METRO and Makro-Habib to combine resources and gain the financial strength to lead and grow in a challenging environment and to gain synergies targeted to generate value for our customers and suppliers alike. Today the company is operating 10 wholesale centers in Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Islamabad & Faisalabad.
METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited is part of METRO GROUP’s sales division METRO Cash & Carry, the international leader in self-service wholesale. The company operates more than 750 stores in 25 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa and has a workforce of over 107,000 employees. Sales in 2016/17 were approximately 37 billion Euro.
- Lead Daily Department Round, assigned tasks to Store Staff.
- Ordering with Supplier and Buyer in coordination with Floor Manager.
- To ensure the required quality and temperature maintained in the department.
- Receive and Quality Assurance check of carcass.
- Signage’s and FIFO check in department.
- Coordinate with ALC/EDP in printing and generation of new barcodes.
- Working on Daily QA reports.
- Address customer complaints to understand customers’ needs and expectations and propose solutions.
- Perform competitors 'promotions check to give on-going feedback on main competitors (retailers, wholesalers, etc.) per customer segment (HoReCa, Trader, Services, Companies & Offices) to Buying Department.
- Keep strong control over daily stock maintenance by continuous monitoring of inventory, shrinkage, stock availability to guarantee and create the optimum stock performance in quality, quantity and safety targeting customer segments and following the company strategy, and to create the right base for reordering.
- Communication with Buyers and Logistics to provide buyers with information on customers, competitors, suppliers, and to solve specific issues and to provide Logistics with feedback about delivery, quality, etc.
- Coach and train team members on existing and new concepts, technology and functionality to pave their way towards the successful achievement of the functional objectives of the team, thus playing a role in the enhancement of the technical skill set of an individual and improving the growth of an individual towards positive attitude.
Intermediate (with 8+ years' work experience) or Graduation (with less than 8 years’ work experience).
