SUSTAINABILITY REDEFINED: WHERE INNOVATION MEETS CONVERSATION

We consciously live in a world where the pursuit of progress and production collides with the environmental and social concerns however, at METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, we stand as the transcendent example of corporate stewardship where sustainability is a way of life. It is the cornerstone of our existence and the mere foundation of our care for the planet, the pledge to nurture and help grow our communities while taking care of the generations to come. 


Our stores and operations are a testament to being the beacons of energy efficiency. METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited has taken big initiatives towards energy saving which includes the implementation of Solatube Daylighting System in 5 of our stores. These stores namely the Capital, DHA, Model Town, Ravi and Safari Stores are now operating upon daylight completely. This has resulted in the absolute turning off around 900 to 1500 electric lights in our stores allowing our customers to shop from our daylit sales floor. 


We actively seek ways to protect and preserve the ecosystems that sustain us all. For this purpose, METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, has in almost 4 of its stores installed Solar Power Solution and pledged to consistently reduce the Co2 emissions. This initiative resulted in saving energy that can power around 250 households for an entire year.


In a world where the environmental conditions deteriorate ever so quickly, METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited has taken the initiative to introduce the hand-crafted baskets made from palm leaves available in our fruits and vegetables section. They are a timeless commitment to our pledge towards sustainable goals and ethical craftsmanship. Each basket is a carrier of the promise of quality and sustainability that brings a touch of eco conscious elegance into your world.

Our sustainability journey has never been just a policy for us rather it’s a culture, a way of thinking and acting that is embedded in every level of our organization. For this purpose, we celebrate the Sustainability Day with the single aim of creating awareness among our employees upon the subject. To encourage rethinking in our employees enabling them to become the ambassadors of change they wish to see.
